Transcript: Expectations after having a glycerol rhizotomy
For patients undergoing glycerol rhizotomy, most of them can expect pain relief within a few days following the procedure. It is however not as effective as other treatments in giving the patients the ability to discontinue their medications. Approximately 50% of patients undergoing glycerol rhizotomy will be able to decrease or discontinue the medications that they take for their facial pain.
