Transcript:  MS & facial pain syndromes

Patients with multiple sclerosis have classically been described as often having facial pain syndromes involving both sides of their face.  In addition to that being difficult to treat, often patients with multiple sclerosis will have very difficult to treat facial pain syndromes because the multiple sclerosis is the actual cause of their pain.  It is often somewhat easier to treat patients who don’t have multiple sclerosis for their facial pain syndromes and this is one of the concerns in treating patients with multiple sclerosis as it often requires multiple medicines at higher doses for those patients.
