Surgical Considerations - Age

Some patients may feel as if they are too old to consider a surgical procedure to relieve face pain.  Since general anesthesia is required for microvascular decompression (MVD) and most stimulation procedures, this plays a role in the surgical selection process for older patients and those whose health is compromised.  It’s not necessarily the age of someone as it is their overall health in deciding which surgical procedure is best for them.
