Percutaneous Procedure - Balloon Compression
General anesthesia is used for the balloon compression destructive procedure. Trigeminal neuralgia patients with V1 branch, eye and scalp pain, are good candidates for this destructive procedure because damage to fibers which would affect the corneal reflex can be avoided. Complications may include loss of chewing strength on the treated side and numbness.
