Transcript: Root canal therapy versus removing a tooth
Root canal therapy versus removing a tooth -- The success rate of implant dentistry now equals or surpasses the success rate of root canal therapy. And so whenever you’re faced with an option of getting root canal therapy, you should consider whether implant dentistry and tooth removal are a more conservative and predictable outcome. Both keeping in mind if should you choose to go the implant route, requires a fair degree of surgery that you would have to undergo and that may persuade you to consider root canal therapy. But also it depends on the nature of the disease that has indication for root canal therapy. Don’t undergo any heroic root canal therapies. Anything that looks complicated that has a guarded prognosis, you’ll have a much better outcome with conservative and well-done tooth removal and in the future implant placement -- a much better outcome.
