Transcript:  Who is a good glycerol candidate

Who’s a good glycerol candidate is a question that I think we can generalize.  Who is a good candidate for an ablative procedure, the so called destructive procedure, the procedures that is other than microvascular decompression?  And I think the candidate for glycerol would be the one who is not in excellent medical condition to undergo microvascular decompression.

Is there a difference between who’s a good candidate of glycerol, radiofrequency, or gamma knife?  I would say that very much is surgeon dependent.  There are some surgeons who do one procedure a lot more than the other.  Obviously he or she is going to be better in that procedure.  So it’s very important that you find out, if you’re interested in a specific procedure as to what is your surgeon doing.  If he is doing a lot of radiofrequency procedures, he is better off in that.  And the person who is doing more glycerol is going to be better in that.

So, a person who is not a great medical candidate to have microvascular decompression is usually a good candidate for glycerol.
