Acupuncture can be performed by two different providers.
Medical doctors can perform acupuncture and physicians who do acupuncture need special training, additional training. I went to an acupuncture school where I had to get 300 hours extra of academic training.
A licensed acupuncturist is one who goes through two years of training. They’re not medical doctors but the effects are similar. The results are similar.
I prefer medical acupuncturists because they have a broad scope of talents from modern medicine and then from traditional acupuncture.
