Acupuncture can cost anywhere from $75 per office visit to $125 per office visit. I would assume that in New York you may pay more – maybe $200 per office visit. And some local providers charge only $50. But don’t let the cost dissuade you from getting treatment. It’s a valuable tool and it could possibly cure your problem.
As a physician who bills insurance, I don’t charge for the acupuncture per se. It’s complimentary to an office visit. So anybody who comes into my practice will and can get acupuncture at no additional charge.
What I do is and other physicians do this also is that they bill for their time. There’s a coding you can use that will allow the physician to bill for time spent with patients, eye to eye contact, hands on contact with the patients. So, if you have insurance, there may not be any additional cost.
