Transcript: How does acupuncture work?
Acupuncture works by two phenomenal techniques. If you know anything about acupuncture, just remove those thoughts from your mind. It boils down to two simple techniques, two simple things that happen.
One, when you insert the needle into tissue it makes microscopic tissue damage. The tissue bleeds which triggers the healing response. The healing response is powerful. It’s God given. It’s phenomenal.
The other thing that the acupuncture needle does, the needle goes into the muscle and it short circuits the muscle. The muscle goes through a reboot process. The muscle will go through a twitch response, just like a knee jerk. From that, the muscle reboots and it will elongate. Instead of being two inches, it will be two and half inches and from that, it helps the joints to realign and it helps the tissue to realign. It is all part of the balancing process.
