Transcript:  Acupuncture needles and risk of infection

People ask do I reuse the needles.  And years ago they did because they were so valuable.  But now they can manufacture needles so quick and easy.  One needle costs two cent, two pennies.  Some more expensive needles can cost a dime but they’re not worth hording, or reusing or sterilizing.  I’ve probably gone through hundreds, probably thousands of needles.  And because the needle is single use, you prick the skin with the needle, there’s no possibility of infection.

Acupuncture is not a sterile procedure.  It’s a clean procedure.  So if my hands are clean, your skin is clean then there’s absolutely minimal possibility of infection.  As a matter of fact, I’ve never seen an infection at all from any of the needles or procedures that I do.
