Transcript: UTSW trigeminal neuralgia protocol
At UT Southwestern, we have a trigeminal neuralgia protocol. This means that we perform high resolution imaging or thin slice imaging through the region of the trigeminal nerves. We obtain images without and with IV contrast, also known as IV dye, as well as MR angiography through this region. We also obtain 3D volume acquisitions which are also very thin slice which allows us to reconstruct the images in multiple planes to allow us to better evaluate the region of the trigeminal nerves and the surrounding structures.
