Compounding Medicines/Pharmacy

If you have difficulty tolerating the side effects of the medications used for facial pain, compounding might be a solution for you. Compounding pharmacists can make a cream, gel, liquid, or transdermal (skin) patch with one or many different combinations of anticonvulsants, antidepressants, and pain medications.  Compounded medications are absorbed faster through the skin then those taken by mouth. Advantages of using compounded medications may allow smaller doses to be effective and side effects minimized or avoided.
