Transcript:  The atlas orthogonal new patient experience at Back to Health Texas

As a new patient coming into Back to Health Family Chiropractic you’re going to find out that our appointment is much like other chiropractic offices but I do spend a fair amount of time with you.  So, the first thing I would ask is that you go to our website at www.backtohealthtexas.com and look under the new patient information.  What you’ll find is a form section where you can fill out the forms and bring those in because they’ll both save us some time and give you an opportunity to think about all of the details of what’s really going on with your health while you’re at home.

Then you come in.  We’re going to sit down and we’ll have a discussion about what’s going on.  What’s your history has been.  What kind of medications you’re taking.  What your body has resulted with and the various treatments that you’ve undergone.  We’re going to find out really where you are on that day.  The next thing we will do is we’ll take you into to do an exam and ask your body to tell us exactly what it tells us.  Your body’s going to maybe going to tell us a different story than what you are consciously aware of.  So, we do a full exam to find out.  After that, we take appropriate x-rays.  We only take the films we need on a given day but we do take whatever we need to find out how to best help you.  That’s our first appointment.  Typically it takes about two hours because I really want to find out exactly what’s going on with you in order to see what’s happening, we really need to get in and to see.  To see is to know and to not see is to guess.

Our second visit is where we actually do the first adjustment.  That first adjustment is followed by a further set of x-rays of your upper cervical region.  The reason we do this is because we want to see exactly what changes we just made and if we need to make any little bit of an adjustment so that we can make it even better.  After that, that visit takes about an hour.

After that visit what we’re going to expect is about a half an hour a visit.  You’ll come in.  We’ll check.  We’ll find out whether or not your atlas is holding on that day.  If it needs to be adjusted, we adjust it.  If we don’t need to adjust it, we’ll leave it alone.  And each visit will take about a half an hour.

We also do full spine adjusting in our office so if we’re looking at the full spine and how it’s effecting the entire body which we want to do then we may adjust other regions during those follow-up visits.
