Transcript: Auricular Therapy: a needless form of acupuncture
Auricular therapy is based on Chinese medicine of acupuncture. The way we do it, we don’t use needles. We just use a little machine that’s like an electric stim and it feels like a little nibble or just a little bite to your ear that’s very painless for the most part. It stimulates the meridian system.
In Chinese medicine, you have meridian points. That’s energy flowing through the body. You can have too much energy or too little energy. We want a balanced energy system. If you have too much or too little, it can cause pain and discomfort.
By using auricular therapy with a little stimulation, we stimulate the meridian system within the entire ear based on the patterns that we have for facial pain or trigeminal neuralgia. When we do that, we can decrease or eliminate pain and discomfort.
