Transcript:  What to expect after a Balloon Compression procedure

After a Balloon Compression, you’ll typically be discharged several hours after the procedure.  In general, you’ll have immediate pain relief after the procedure along with numbness in all three distributions in the face.

There will be some slight discomfort where the needle entry point is on the face.  All of that is very brief.

Typically, patients will stay on their medication regimen as it was prescribed before the procedure.  And usually a week or two after the procedure, we’ll start to taper off of their medications if they have good pain relief.

It takes a few days for some patients to get used to the new numbness on their face.  However, most patients will gladly trade some sensation on their face for excellent pain relief which is the usual after surgery.
